Home-made gold for winter skin
Living in Finland, winter time can be tough for your skin especially now with -30 C! I’m a firm believer in taking care of my skin every morning and evening by cleansing my face of make-up and moisturizing twice daily. Even though I believe I take good care of my skin, the freezing weather is really taking its toll on my skins moisture levels. So this morning I decided to try some home-made moisturizing facial scrubs, to see if they’re any good.
I decided to to try 2 different moisturizing facial scrubs as well as a moisturizing face mask. It was important that all mixes were made from natural house hold items you’d easily find in your kitchen and each made with less than a 7€ budget.
I found that home-made moisturizing facial scrubs and moisturizing masks are amazing, cheap, delicious and lots of fun to make! Here are my recipes.
Revitalizing Sugar Scrub – Scrubs, moisturizes, and refreshes your skin.
Brown sugar
Honey
Lemon oil (or avocado oil)
Fresh lemon juice (1 lemon slice)
Tropical beach scrub – Scrubs, cleanses and moisturizes your skin.
Coconut oil
Sea salt
Fresh lemon juice (1 lemon slice)
Greek goddess mask – Brightens and moisturizes your skin.
½ Avocado (mashed)
Honey
Greek yogurt
Fresh lemon juice (a splash to preserve the avocado’s fresh green color)
All the ingredients were found from my kitchen cupboards; it was that easy! I did however pop into the store to check out how much it would cost me to buy the ingredients. To my surprise each recipe could be made with a budget of less than 8€!
I’m glad I tried these home made scrubs and mask. I found they are natural and easy to make. They moisturized my skin perfectly and I also used the tropical beach scrub in the shower for my legs and arms. I will definitely try these again soon, if not every week from now on! I welcome you to try them also, and don’t be scared to experiment with different ingredients .
