Eating disorder recovery

’Cause I know you are doing it. Over and over again. You have done it for a long time now. You think it never get easier and that know one understands how hard it is. But you know what? I know. I understand.

Eating disorders kill....eating disorders are not a joke or a phase, they are serious
I wish people would stop telling others to starve themselves or make people think it is okay to "not eat"...people have no idea how much they negatively influence other people. Posting a stupid thinspiration photo telling someone to "not eat"...isn't self expression. That's just plain self hating and sick...Many people are actually suffering with serious eating disorders right now, and if you shame them into not eating, you are being self destructive, much like an eating disorder, itself

Of all mental disorders, Anorexia holds the highest death rate. I don't think many people truly understand what Anorexia Nervosa is. It is not pretty, cute, fun or endearing. You CANNOT just diagnose yourself with it! Anorexia involves malnourishment. Anorexia puts you at risk for developing osteoporosis, a heart attack, kidney failure, suicidal thoughts and death.. It is NOT a choice. Eating disorders result in about 7,000 deaths a year as of 2010. They are not beautiful, or diets gone wrong

You are more than your disorder
Eating disorders kill. Eating disorders have the highest mortality rate of any mental illness,upwards of 20%. Eating disorders can lead to major medical complications, including cardiac arrhythmia, cognitive impairment, osteoporosis, infertility, and most seriously death. The mental anguish of an active eating disorder is tremendous, and persists beyond the medical consequences. Eating disorders cause social isolation, emotional distress, and suicidal thoughts
An eating disorder will not make you happy-an eating disorder makes you more miserable-if you don't think so, then you obviously have never suffered with one
